Well, in the context of young kids, it's a fair argument to make.

At the pace things are currently moving, there's not a bad chance that programming as we know it today will be a silly concept in as little as a decade. Human programmers might be relegated to strictly QA roles, and even then only for bigger companies that can afford such a luxury or those legally compelled to have human oversight.

Until then, the world very much needs software developers.
