Will an external antenna improve latency

oh I don't have an external antenna, so its not my experience, I just know that a better quality of signal makes a batter connection, faster latency and better speeds (speeds of course depend on tower congestion, latency less so)

So to the question the thread poses, I say yes, but whether it improves it enough to justify the purchase is up to the individual user, my guess is you'll get pings between maybe 60 and 70 and peaks of 90, 100 with the antenna in a good area which the user asking the question seems to have (he did mention his good speeds), so if thats enough of an improvment, buy the antenna

Anybody have contact details fro GRES, really want to test his antenna, i've sent him an P.M but no response yet. I'm desperate here :o

Maybe try sending him an email via the forum - from his profile...

no luck

he's specified that he doesn't want to recieve emails, sent him a pm,I'll just have to wait for a response.

I keep on posting in this thread and can't see my replies. Esentially I just wanna know how big the antenna is compared to the modem? Does it need to be mounted outside?

one note regarding latency & speed
iBurst tower drop down speed substantionally, as signal from modem get weak.
with usage directional antenna u can "increase" your signal to the tower and have full speed. i play SF2 over internet with no problem.

If 3G/4G connection, some good directed yagi antenna or well calculated and directed 3d corner antenna will improve the ping, but not that way you think it will. It cant lower the physical distance between your wireless device and access point, but probably will give some higher download and upload speeds. So the "resistance" of your ping will be better, thankfully to better speeds. Ping will be more "isolated" and less sensitive at lower bandwidth consumption situations, like online gaming. Will be more stable, and should have less variations. But ping gets higher as bandwidth consumption gets higher, that's a normal thing with all connections. In mine case, homemade antenna helped me with a ping, lowering it for a little bit.

Congratulations on reviving an 11 years, 5 months, 8 days old post! Slow day at the office? Makes me wonder what the record is for a post necro?
