Will Axxess Semi shaped enhance my COD4 ping?

Hi all,

I'm on adsl (384kb) and have an account with axxess. I was wondering if moving over to their new semi-shaped account will enhance my ping in COD4. I play on the saix servers, and hate it when I look at kill cams and see the delay I see when playing.

Any ideas?

I dont think the semi shaped accounts will help with local servers that much, I might be wrong though. whats your average ping?

anywhere from 75 - 90

that is bad news. Does this mean I will have to upgrade my 384 kb line to a 4m line to get better results?

75 - 90ms is OK, I was recently using a 3g modem which never dropped below 150ms, I even managed to own on some maps finaly got a 384k adsl line installed and now Im back to 60 -70ms

increaseing your bandwidth will not improve your ping or latency. It would allow you to say play games and have other software/people use the line at the same time though.

hmmm, so how do ppl get a ping of 30-40.

What is your nick on the COD4 server. Mine is Cyanide...maybe we will meet on the battlefield

After hours should help slightly, as will going to 512k, but it doesn't seem to your problem. ANYTHING less than 100ms should be perfectly playable.

Do you have other stuff updating while you play?

I was on a 384kb and getting round about 50ms pings, upgraded to 4mb and now I get between 20-30ms, and if I have 3 people playing at the same time it goes up to about 35-40ms. The quicker upload speed does make a difference(you go from 128kb to 640/512 kb)
