My iphone 3G silence button is loose. The phone is still under a year old and I did not damage it myself. The phone keeps on randomly vibrating whilst in my pocket and sometimes wont even switch onto silent. This problem is also affecting my battery. If I take it into vodaworld are they going to give me a replacement phone? Im worried they going to send it off for days because you can't get 3G's anymore only S? Or will they just give me a replacement iPhone on spot? Thanks

you can still get both - infact its only 3G they have in stock.
My understanding is that they dont repair and only replace

Phone them and find out :erm:

My experience with this is that they take your phone in, send it to their repair center who assess it, and send you a refurbished unit. This takes more than a week, and it took up to six weeks in my gf's case. Sometimes they send it back as unrepairable if they determine the problem is due to physical damage (i.e. if they believe the phone has been dropped etc). Your best bet is to go in and see what they say.

One thing I can tell you though, is they do not go oh ok cool, and give you a brand new one. At best, you get a refurbished unit in a week or two.

It's the same story if your blackberry is broken.

Do you honestly believe I have the patience to speak to some no brain guy on the other end of the phone who will just tell me to bring it in? Im not going to drive to vodaworld for nothing. I was simply asking for some past experiences, not some cocky little comment...

****!

Like Broken said... You'll at best get it repaired. Replacement is unlikely.

Nope. They don't repair. They take it in, inspect it, and send you back a REFURBISHED UNIT. I did not mention they repair it in SA. All the broken phones get send to Apple who repairs in the USA or wherever, and then returned as refubished units.

I took it in today. The woman told me that they would see first if it was software and if not, they would send it to head offices to get a replacement unit. I did ask her if it was going to be a refurbished one, she said no, vodacom does not hand out refurbished units, and it would be a brand new sealed unit.....:D im hoping its hardware:D:D:D and hoping even more vodacom has run out of 3G stock and has to give me a new S
