I wonder whether Vodacom will offer this for iPhone, seems quite neat.

I can't see why they wouldn't. More data = more revenue.
Yeah, that's what I thought too about tethering. But they're too thick-skulled for that. Even after I confronted them about it they tried to blame Apple for it not working... I said something like: "Yeah, but if I put my MTN SIM in it works..." they went something like "Eish... err... no, but Apple". That was the end of it.
I've been using my iphone 3G tethered on vodacom since they introduced it with whatever update it was.Yeah, that's what I thought too about tethering. But they're too thick-skulled for that. It works. Tested on iOS 4.3 gm
Whilst waiting for MTN or VC to enable it, just get yourself a CellC sim, stick in your iPhone 4 and tether to your iPad.Certainly will be nice if Apple/Vodacom (or MTN) does enable/allow this, I can't see why they wouldn't as bwana said - it is data that you have or have to pay for so they may as well. I can't see myself using it much but would be cool to have my iPhone4 as a WiFi AP to my WiFi only iPad.

Personal hotspot missing on IOS 4.3 for Vodacom (was Vodacom sleeping again?)
MTN has it on their version![]()
I am on Vodacom, running 4.3.1, tried removing the sim, putting it back again etc., but nowhere do I see the personal hotspot function! And yes, I know where to look - it should be in the first Settings screen. Any advice?
