Will Windows 10 be awesome?

It seems as if Windows 10 is loaded with many new features which are very cool.
Was there any improvements made to the operating system to enhance online security?

I'm running Windows 10 and it downloads a new Windows Defender definition every day.

Looks like Microsoft is serious about security with their new baby.

I'm optimistic about Windows 10.

Microsoft can't afford another bugger up like Windows 8. If they get this wrong then they become vulnerable in their core market and I don't see them letting that happen.

They've got the muscle to do this properly, and a "what not to do" book written by Windows 8. So they have the opportunity to right the wrongs, and amplify their strong points.

I for one will be upgrading to Windows 10 when it comes out. First time ever I think I'll be taking the upgrader discount when it launches.

Me too, I predict Windows 10 will be Microsoft's finest hour. :)

What will make Windows 10 very desirable to each and everyone, is how light it is on resources. I'm running it on an Intel Celeron NUC and it feels like I'm using a Core i3 pc. So I reckon a lot of people will be able to rejuvenate their old computers with Windows 10, driver support permitted.

Will have to test StarCraft 2 on my Windows 10 laptop, and see if it runs well.

Fair enough, 95 was good at the time and 98 was a nice improvement, but from there:

Win Me: Dismal failure
Win XP : Great
Win Vista: Train Wreck
Win 7: Amazing
Win 8: Train Wreck

Windows 2000 was good.

Yes, if you upgrade to Windows 10 within the first year of release.
Only for users of consumer editions of Windows 7 and Windows 8.1.
Enterprise versions of 7 and 8.1 are not eligible to receive free upgrades under this promotion.
After that, you will cry big crocodile tears, as you will have to pay full price.
It will probably be still be available on TPB after a year.

Companies might still stick with Windows 7 for a while, but I'm sure Microsoft will provide big incentives to upgrade.

At the Time I had such hope for OS/2 as a consumer OS but IBM stuffed up as usual

OS2 was the first 32-bit OS, and flippin brilliant, but unfortunately plagued by lack of driver and user support.

Is the preview version stable and suitable for extended use ?

I might format and get a sdd soo
