Hey guys. Im new to these forums. I recently ordered WoW and GW :) and got a frieind to send them to me via Royal Mail. I was just wondering if WoW would work on my internet connection. I live in Westville, so the speed of my ADSL is quite slow. I downloaded Rubies of Evertide, an online MMORPG, to check the speed, and it was horribily slow. Will World of Warcraft be like this? My internet download speed ranges from 2kbs to 35 kbs. Please guy I really want to play WoW! :confused:

Thanks :D Wow! You can play its on a 56k dial up!!! Another question: Is this normal for ADSL?

Below is the data used to calculate your download speed:

* Download time: 24.781 seconds
* Size of file: 500 KiloBytes
* Estimated line speed: 164.6 (kilobits/second)
* Estimated line speed: 20.2 (kiloBytes/second)

Ok thanks :) I got 384K but because its so slow, I pay for 192k. YES! Wow works on 192! Finally no more paying R18 an hour at an internet cafe just to play WOW! Thanks alot. :D

I'm playing GW on DSL192 using a normal SAIX shaped account currently - it works great.

Lewstherin where did you get GW? I've been searching high & low for this game but it looks like another WoW :( (i.e not to SA). Apparently it even works on 56k :D...but the nice part is that it's low-bandwidth so it won't waste my cap :)

Yeah, Guild Wars can easily be played on a 56k dial up. Its looks like its only avalible overseas though........ :D im getting it with WoW!

your worst enemy for WoW is latency because it isnt a data hog like BF2 in the online aspect... if you get ADSL get Nukecap like someone suggested, this will reduce your latency to a playable minimum.

I do have ADSL........but its very slow in the area i live in :( . My bandwiths ok if that what your talking about..........but i worried because my ADSL is so slow. Most ppl say that if u have ADSL its no problem but by ADSL is messed up.
