Hi
Living in Namibia and have Wimax through Telecom. Works great on the PC, but only with the tweaking utility Dr TCP installed. Otherwise the connection starts up nicely, but gradually slows down.

Now I got a MacBook with Leopard, and I experience the same problem. Connects fine, but then within half a minute the connection is virtually dead. The problem is, Dr TCP is only for Windows, and I need help to either locate an alternative utility for Mac or information about correct settings for the Mac. Telecom here in Namibia doesn't have a clue, and say Wimax doesn't work with Mac, but I find that hard to believe.

Can anyone help me out?

I assume what Dr TCP does for you on windows is change the MTU? Find instructions for changing your MTU on a Mac here:

Mtu

Yes. The Dr TCP changes the MTU settings, or make it possible for me to customize them. I can also do this manually on the Mac, but it didn't solve the problem. On the Dr TCP, I can also change the value/setting for TTL. What is that? Can't find any TTL setting on the Mac. Could it be the problem?

I've been told by another Wimax service provider that I might need a router for the MacBook. Do you think it could solve the problem?

Wimax Setup on MacOS X 10.5 Leopard

Hi everyone.

Could you perhaps give me information about how to set up wimax on the Mac? I've got 10.5 and I've been trying to explain to my wife over the phone but I don't have the experience to help her. What settings did you make? Did you create a pppoe connection and configure that or did you modify the ethernet connection made to the wimax box? Or other?

Thanks in advance.
Matthew
