Hi all,

I have a Wimax connection going straight into my Desktop PC and I use Axxess(PPPoE) as my ISP. I recently bought a laptop for my wife and want to share the Wimax connection to the laptop as well as network the 2 pc's.

I bought an Asus WL520g Wireless Router and went through the setup. I used the default EZ Setup and was able to access the wireless LAN from the laptop and was also able to connect to the Internet. However, only google will open and I can search google but most internet sites will not open. It just says loading... and never opens! Some sites eventually timeout! This happens from both the desktop and laptop with the same websites. The fact that it happens on both machines using different OS's and different browsers as well as disabling Firewalls on both machines surely point to the router?

When I unplug the router and go staight into the desktop pc from tyhe IDU, the internet works perfectly.

Does anyone have any suggestions?

could be a DNS issue. Have you tried adding DNS servers (like 168.210.2.2) manually?

Also, it's Wimax through Router problems ;)

What I did was to just use the router as a wireless network. I then just did a normal PPPOE dialup and everything worked

Does the Axxess account allow for more than 2 concurrent connections?

You didn't mention if you dialed up from the laptop as well

Hey Rabbit and Acid,

I solved my problem - i needed to set the router as an AP, and set dial up on desktop and Laptop as opposed to configuring PPPoE on the router. The router config of wl520g does not give you the option to set as AP as with other models, but i found a tip on the Asus support forum that mentioned how.....basically dont use the WAN Port!

Thanks for the prompt replies
