WiMAX router, does anyone adsl one work?

no, wimax is a wireless technology and ADSL is a wired (copper) technology.

better hope those grammar Nazis don't get hold of you.

I think I've found a pretty reasonable alternative.

I had an old pc lying around doing nothing. I installed two network cards in it and installed SmoothWall Express (a linux based firewall) on the machine. This machine then handles the PPPoE connection for my WiMAX. It also has a DHCP server, Web Proxy, and a lot of other usefull tools built in, like bandwidth graphs, etc. You can also manage multiple WiMAX profiles. This is useful if you have an international AND local adsl account and want to be able to switch between them seamlessly. Definately worth looking at if you have a spare old pc (Smoothwall will run perfectly on a P166, 32mb ram, etc)...
Just make sure the HDD is at least 20Gb. The Web Proxy cache can quickly become quite big.

Have a look at http://www.smoothwall.org/.

If you have a machine like this, you can use any R299 4 port switch, or even a normal 4-port broadband router, to distribute your internet to other computers.

My setup is as follows:

Smootwall PC :
RED Ethernet (connected to the wimax CPE) - basically your connection to the outside world
GREEN Ethernet : Connected to my Netgear DG834G Wireless ADSL Router
All other pc's, including Wireless then connects to the Netgear router and voila, bob's your uncle.:D

If you want any more information, feel free to pm me...

I've used smoothwall in the past, very cool linux distro :)

I actually do have a old PC which I can use for the gateway... I guess it's nice because smoothwall with cache all the websites, meaning I will save some bandwidth and pages should load faster right?

:)
