I have a 384 adsl copper connection. Telkom offers a 512 Wimax connection. Would this be faster or slower than the ADSL line?

They will NOT supply Wimax if you already have ADSL (unless maybe your copper in the area gets stolen
)......and 512 Wimax will be equal to 512 ADSL

Actually they will, I have wimax in an area where they have adsl, they first refused but i kept nagging them and told them about the ****ty adsl connection I have (copper disappearing) I am in a metroplitian area with a hellkom exchange 500 metres from my house and quite a few business arround as well and I managed to get wimax

I had no problems getting Wimax from Telkom at all and I have 4 telephone lines including an ADSL enabled one (that was canceled approx 2 years ago)
It's quite good and I love being able to switch different ADSL accounts, with my wireless connection I can now do the whole afrihost.com thing... pity that iBurst/Screamer and 3G users aren't able to...
