There was an earlier post about telkom looking into a new wireless deal some people said something about WiFi and how it couldn't be that ... how about this WiMax thing .. they say its got a radius of
30km (or thats what i heard)

WiMax is designed around point-to-multipoint though, which means it requires a "base station" of kinds, with multipoint end nodes, pretty much the same as MyWireless does, to get that 30km range.

IPWireless have already got kit that'll do in that range too, it's just a question of when/if Sentech will get it.

MyNET has good coverage up to 14,5 km LOS, down to 3,4km facing 180 degrees in the opposide direction.pretty impressive
