Can anyone with a proper fibre connection and compatible 4K TV confirm that they can stream this in 4K?

I have no problem with it when selecting the 1080p stream in the iPlayer Smart TV app, but when selecting the 4K stream it only buffers for a while, and then times out.

Looks like even a 20Mb/s VDSL connection can't handle it, as they recommend a 36Mb/s connection as the bare minimum.

If that makes you happy, please do it.

I will not pass judgement. ;)

The aim is to confirm that it can be done from way over here, the content is irrelevant.

Like asking if you can fit 3 litres into a 2 litre bottle.

The YouTube video will confirm if you can stream 4K video without buffering. It is only 6 minutes long but it's a start. But then there is the "upto" 20Mbps of your ISP, the contention of your ISP, and the route the content takes to reach your device. Also do you run a VPN? The VPN has an overhead too.

Youtube streams work fine at 4K, but the 4K iPlayer streams don't.

There is also conflicting information, as the article states 36Mb/s to be the minimum, but the iPlayer's own site states it to be 20Mb/s.

No VPN. so no overhead.

They're probably talking about a real world 20Mbps.

20Mbps VDSL is at very best, 18Mbps.

Maybe that's the issue?
