Hi All, perhaps someone can advise me on this, I bought a desktop a number of years ago with Win7 Home installed. The case rusted badly here at the coast so I replaced it not thinking to record the licence number on the sticker.
During the Win 10 free upgrade, I installed all the updated to that platform. About a year later I had some problems and sent it in for repair. It came back with an unlicenced Win7 Ultimate unlicensed OS. Is there a way to restore Win 10? I have a licensed Win 8 OS disk if that helps?

Pay the R350 or whatever to @Flashgear and get Windows 10 Pro, no more struggling.

The Windows 8 key should still work. Upgrade to Windows 10 via the assistant https://support.microsoft.com/en-us/help/3159635/windows-10-update-assistant. Else just buy a key here https://mybroadband.co.za/forum/thr...rofessional-keys.1101842/page-2#post-26411816

If you have your Windows 8 key it should work as said above.

If you reinstall the same version of win10 it should automatically revalidate.
A lot of the time that only works if you edit the ei file to force OEM, can be hit or miss though
