Sooo

This is the second time in 3 years this laptop does it.

Its a Lenovo g560.

I can not remember how I fixed it previously. Remember doing a battery reset...thats all.

I powered it up after replacing the lcd panel today. It was off and flat for about 5 weeks before today.

The battery wont charge up now. In windows I get the error plugged in and not charging when I hover over the battery.

What is the cause of this and how do we mend this problem permanently?

>Disconnect AC
>Shutdown
>Remove battery
>Connect AC
>Startup
>In Device Manager, Under the Batteries category, right-click all of the Microsoft ACPI Compliant Control Method Battery listings, and select Uninstall (it’s ok if you only have 1).
>Shutdown
>Disconnect AC
>Insert battery
>Connect AC
>Startup

I have tried this 5 times no luck.

Battery reset, unplug you charger completely and discharge the remaining static by sticking a pin into the male connector that goes into the laptop. Also do the same for the female connector when you have removed the battery for the reset. Make sure all static and remaining charge has been discharged before putting everything together again. Make sure everything is unplugged from charger and wall plug before discharging.

Disclaimer: This is what worked for me, it might not work for you. Got it from a Youtube vid so not my advice.

How do you charge your laptop? When its flat or leave it plugged in even when its full?

Plugged permanently. It has some smart charge system that shuts down charging when it reaches 80% and switches it on at 7%.

On a side note... I ran scandisk and when it restarted it went into power management by itself and started a battery reset.

It is now charging again. Up to 6% now.

???

Whats going on?
It is a 3 month old battery so I doubt the battery is to blame.

My brother has the G550 and it doesnt have such a feature (could be OEM software)

Try this program and take a screenshot

Its the lenovo power management app. Its resetting the battery now. Full charge and discharge... ill try as soon as it sorts itself out. If I am still awake.

Oh, well I formatted the laptop as soon as he got it. So thats why it didnt charge like that.

Have not had a 5 minutes free to run that. My SO is busy with Philosophy research. God save me... "pain" is the topic.

Ah well I dont care really as long as the thing works.

I have a new notebook on the way for me.
