Hello
Windows 7 spends at least 20 min on the welcome screen, any ideas what could be causing this very slow boot. When it does boot the apps take forever to load. Any ideas?.

Thanks ponder how do I run a hard drive check? C:chkdisc is thus right

Do you have McAfee or Norton Network Security installed?
 
Kingrob no Norten or
Mcafee installed. Maybe a bug/virus, will run Malwarebites
 
Thanks for the info gents, I seem to have isolated it to the sidebar apps going to uninstall it and see what happens.
Rickster will download the s/w and post a screenshot tomorrow from work.

Ok found the problem pc was riddled with viruses Why the hell do peeps turn off MSE I have no idea.
 
Thanks guys. Saved the docs and formatted, installed windows again and all seems ok.
 
Is there not an option to disallow disabling of MSE in group policy?
