Win XP Sp3 and AVG

Since installing XP SP 3, my machine hangs exactly 4 or 5 times on boot up, every time (at the same point as well - just after the desktop icons have appeared.). I have uninstalled SP3, but it still hangs. Either the uninstall doesnt clean up properly or that wasnt the problem at all.
I am now wondering if it is my AVG 8 that is conflicting with something SP 3 installed.

Has anyone else experienced this?

Nope. Works fine on my single XP machine and all the XP virtual machines. No issues whatsoever. Must be something else.

no, AVG8 works fine with SP3 on those computers that I have running it. Must be something else.

When your on computer first go to run
Type in "msconfig"
disable some start-up programs and on 1 at a time!
See which one effects your pc and if a window program effects it. Reinstall windows or hence

i run that combo, with no issues at all...

...it could well be another prog that loads at start up, thats causing this
