Ok, given that everyone is buying generators and UPS', has anyone taken into the account that fuel is rediculously expensive and the noise/exhaust pollution?
Has anyone taken a look at wind turbines as an alternative? Obviously it's not a fail proof solution but its could end up paying for itself rather quickly in a windy area.
Kestrel Wind seems to have a product with reasonable output capacity.

They have distributers in South Africa if anyone is interested, just do a bit of digging around and you'll find them.
