'Winding The Meter Backwards'

I dont know why I am fascinated but I am. I have been googling around for an inverter and i came across a site that talks about inverters ..."All the power you produce goes to your load and runs the meter backwards when you produce more power than you need. At night and during cloudy weather, all power comes from the grid."

I suppose this means if I have a solar panel then i would be a little eskom ?

I really like the part about turning the meter backwards !

I am fascinated.

The only compelling reason I can think of is that their network is not setup to do so.

Buying readily available power isn't going to fund that new 7 series you know!

yes - this is Africa and it will take them another 25 years to work it out - if you are lucky and if they guy that needs to do it has not left for the UK.

It works well in civilized countries. Eskom refuses any power not produced by them because that would damage their monopoly.

Also, don't try to implement something here without approval. The consequences could be serious.
