Good day

I just upgraded a PC from Vista to Window 7

And sound was working in Vista, but no more in 7...

What I have done:

Tested the speakers
Change the volume on speakers
Change the volume in windows
Did the whole set speakers as default
Installed RealTek sound thingy
I have used a USB headset, and there is sound through the USB head set

What I have checked:

Device manager and sound driver is installed
Window 7 says the device is WORKING PROPERLY

What sounds are there?

There is a "bust" like a speaker blowing sound everytime I click.. Like the sound that window 7 gives you when you click into a folder... The sound happens like the click for the folder, just that the sound is not the window 7 sound, it's the sound like someone tapping onto the center of the speakers..

So yeah...

See if someone can help me.. Please!!

Thank you...

widows 7. 32 or 64 make sure you have the rite driver ... and are they USB speakers or jack speakers
I would reinstall a different driver

It's window 7 64x

Drivers is right, i install realtek.. shouldn't that make it right..

Normal jack speakers..

I tried normal window drivers.. and realtek.. none worked :(

it should be rite but did you install the 64 bit driver ?

Yeah, I also tried to find the driver online.. and still didn't work..

Could it be the onboard sound problem?

If it was working before in vista and you have done nothing to the hardware then for sure you have a software problem
Uninstall the driver restart machine see if windows loads a driver for you

Go to the motherboard manufacturers website, download the latest Windows 7 or Vista drivers. If Vista drivers give the incompatible error, just install in compatibility mode.

Also, don't feel insulted but did you confirm that the speakers are plugged into the correct port?

Other options are to confirm that the audio service is running and that the onboard audio is enabled in the BIOS.

If you installed realtek, the chances are that it set the default sound to the hdmi sound driver, you need to open your sound settings and set your default to "line-in". Play around in that window, im not near a win7 pc now so i forgot the names of the devices. But i think the problem lies there.

I uninstalled it, then restart... WIndow 7 starts to install driver saying it sees "new hardware" and then driver installed... can use device.. but still..

That's weird though... Cause I installed window 7 on other PC before.. and everything just works.. no problem.. Like window 7 lives up to it's name..

but this time.. mm

Sigh..

Thanks anyway..

Check out
www.3dpchip.com

very small application.click on the sound card tab and hopefully you should see your x64 o/s.

Hope this helps.

Yeah I tried the troubleshoot.. didn't work either.. sigh..
