Hi, I am running a raid 0 configuration on my PC and I am trying to install a fresh copy of window 7 ultimate. When I start the installation there is no problem with finding the drive as windows 7 comes with the intel raid drivers already loaded. I chose the drive and the installation starts and runs all the way through. The PC restarts and then do the first start up configuring everything but then it comes up with an error message saying that windows could not be configured to run on my system. I have also tried to load the intel drivers I downloaded from intel website with the same result! What could be the problem??

1 TB.

I know the limit for MBR is 2 TB so it should work fine!

The system is as follows:

Gigabyte P965-DQ6 Motherboard
Intel Quad core CPU I think its a Q6600 model (not at home now so can't check)
4 Gb Memory
2 x 500 MB Seagate hard drives in Raid 0 config
Asus Nvidia GTX 580 PCIEx display addaptor

Why are you running RAID 0?
You double your risk of losing your system...

Mainly for the speed... I do lots of Video editing and encoding on my PC.

I see, makes sense
Can I make an unsolicited suggestion?

Get another couple of drives. Make a Raid 1 set for your system/programs, and then a raid 0 set for data. At least then if a drive fails you won't be rebuilding your entire system?

If I can't figure out this Windows issue I will have to do that. Or just run my system on a standalone drive and then do the raid 0 config extra for editing.

Probably doesn't care for the data and just wants one bigger drive.

I would rather put an SSD in there if it's speed you are after and then use Storage Spaces for the rest.

Try a different copy of Win7. Might be something wrong with the one you have.

If you want speed either get an ssd or get another two drives and run RAID 10, lots of speed and you won't lose everything if one drive fails

He has finished the install, so the disc is working.
