Windows 10 - chkdsk: Stuck on stage 4

External 1st started hanging on accessing files..

Then tried copy / move data off no luck..

Ran defrag or optimize no errors

Checked disk for errors and it recommended to run chkdsk manually

Now it has been stuck on this stage..

CHKDSK is verifying file data (stage 4 of 5)…

At 88% of Stage 4 and 82% complete..

Any suggestions or is hdd toast ?

Been stuck on this since about 11:18 this morning, chkdsk ran the whole night from around 8pm..

Well don’t have it anymore

It is on netflix anyway..

Any advise on trying to recover some files..

Was thinking maybe image to another similar drive..

Yup but drive is RAW so cant access or delete

Normally that would stick pages together,,,not sectors.

Boot with a recovery disk and copy over stuff and afterwards try running testdisk
