Windows 10 Mobile is dead

Windows 10 Mobile will receive its final set of updates today, after which the mobile operating system will officially be deemed unsupported.

This applies to all Windows 10 Mobile products, including Windows 10 Mobile and Windows 10 Mobile Enterprise.

Never saw that coming!

I know of at least 1 person who will be affected by this - now he can put his windows mobile phone with his Zune and start a collection :-)

Amazing how the mighty Microsoft with so much money and resources is not able to come up with a mobile interface that can compete with a spin-off of a free operating system....

Was gonna saying something to that effect. They didn't have the endurance (ie. balls) to fully commit to their own platform.

TechAltar on Youtube has some good videos on the topic. Basically Microsoft wanted the control of Apple without the premium and expected the ubiquity of Android. There was no reason for any manufacturer to ditch Android

I thought Microsoft got out of the mobile OS game years ago after buying and destroying Nokia (not that Nokia was in great shape to start with).

I miss my Windows phone. It's a shame they never caught on fire.
FTFY.
