Windows 10: should users upgrade?

I have been using the evaluation version. Now it has updated and the evaluation version notice on the bottom of the screen is gone. System setting tells me: Windows 10 Pro.

Does this mean I now have the full version or will it expire in 12 months?

Windows 7 was the last edition of Windows that had me excited. I've since moved to OSX (which will also be updated for free later this year), but I'm looking forward to see what Windows 10 has to offer. Currently it sounds like Microsoft is slowly but surely getting back on track after Windows 8.

I will be upgrading my personal laptop from 8.1 to Windows 10. But our company laptops still have Windows 7 and I doubt they will be upgrading any time soon. I hope the switch every evening between the two will not be inconvenient.

Just now noticed a new folder in the root of C: $Windows.~BT

Looks like the setup files for the upgrade to Win 10 - will it happen tonight at midnight?

I think I'll hold at least for my users until we are very very clear that it's not a piece of crap when you install business apps. For myself I'll jump in asap

Checked my PC this morning, all it says is WIN 10 upgrade is reserved. Will probably update tonight then?

Will be interesting to see when corporates will be adopting Windows 10.
As with all previous versions, larger corporates will only take a look in about 6 months and then start planning the upgrade in a about a year. Many have only fairly recently moved to Win7. You can't just fiddle with very large corporate installations. Some large early-adopter corporates are waiting for Threshold II in October 2015. And as with previous releases, many execs and techies with new kit will use the included Win10 while the IT Dept tests and plans for upgrade of general business systems in about 12-24 months.

Very very few large corporates can be at the bleeding edge. Business as usual.
