Windows 10 will automatically uninstall buggy updates

Fricking hate Windows updates, don't even get me started on the automatic installation of drivers when you get a new device, have had a bunch of Dell machines that that refuses to boot up properly after installing Intel HD drivers, I then have to get myself into Control Panel and uninstall the driver, download additional software to block it from installing drivers via windows updates and then only it boots up properly.

I even have issues with failed updates on a clean Windows 10 installation, buggy as fvck.

The last version of Windows I actually liked was Server 2000.

IIS is a ****ing pain in the arse but once you had your **** setup, Server 2000 was super stable. Had an instance running for over 10 years without problems aside from the occasional restart after an update.

W10 is my current OS, and I can live with it, but I don't like it. I especially dont like the way it randomly disables my WIFI network adaptor, which always, always happens when there is an emergency at work after hours and I need to use WIFI.

Check the power setting, disable power management on the adapter.

Windows 10 is gonna uninstall itself and automatically roll back to 7?

:p
Came here to say this. I tried updating my two kids laptops from Windows 8.1 to 10... and both gave endless problems, eventually just went back to 8.1 and gave up on 10. It's a POS.

Don't worry, statistically speaking Win11 will be good again..

Because "power settings" should be all to do with network adapters.

Thanks for the suggestion, though, in my case the problem was (is?) automatic disabling of the Wifi adapter; the "power settings" fix didn't help.

And I see after a restart the issue is back. Jesus, Windows.

EDIT - oh... I see you were suggesting a different "power settings" thing to what I found on the internets. I applied your fix; lets see if it works.

Nope not that, by default, windows is set to allow power saving on the network adapter, so if the PC is doing nothing it may switch it off, here is a guide:

You can use Device Manager to change the power management settings for anetwork adapter. To disable this setting in Device Manager, expand Network Adapters, right-click the adapter, click Properties, click the Power Managementtab, and then clear the Allow the computer to turn off this device to save powercheck box.

Why not just stop releasing buggy updates and patches?

Oh wait, because they fired most of their beta testers and use us as a beta testing army instead.
Pretty sure they didn't fire most of their beta testers, plus they have the public beta versions.
Windows has to run on so many different hardware and software configurations, it's near impossible to test everything.

Dell driver not being up to date on the Windows update service is Dell's fault btw.

just have a quick google in the news around that year.

Sweet, don't know if you know who it is but the YouTuber Barnacules, he was part of it, somewhere on his channel is a whole inside story

interesting news, so there actually is a reason updates lately are so poor and crash systems often,
and why they are so big and take so long to install.

any link to this specific video, @gamer16?

Not that I can find now no, I watch their show Tech Talk where this topic comes up every so often.

EDIT: Just Google microsoft layoff testers and look at all the articles, hundreds of them.
