My setup is as follows: 1x Server (Win 2003), 2xPC's (win XP Pro). Connexant 4Port ADSL Router. All 3 the PC's are connected to the ADSL Router which acts as a DHCP server(the adsl router). If I disconnect the Server from the network i can log on to the internet with the client pc's just fine. As soon as i connect the server to the network, i struggle to open websites or send mail from the 2 client PC's. I've taken of the DHCP & DNS from the Server but that still does not help. Is their any settings on the server I should look at that might be causing the problems? I have an 8 port switch at hand if i should have to use it as well? Any help will be

I'm no win**** expert, but I recall something about M$ server products being regarded as 'master browsers' or something, of a network environment. This may be affecting your connectivity for the 2 clients when you disconnect the server. But the question is actually: why the devil do you disconnect and re-connect the server? Sounds a bit self-defeating, actually - one would expect this of a client unit, not the server...

2k3 Server doesnt like to play without its own DNS setup. Tell the server to look for DNS requests at itself, and then use the dhcp options in the router to input dns servers of 1:router and 2:2k3 server. That way, server is happy as it will get some requests, and still play nire with other dns providers.

Problem

Problem sorted out, I uninstalled dhcp & dns, reinstalled it again, I then set the dns server address and gateway address on the server to that of the router - Problem solved. Thanx guys.
