Hi guys,
i want to connect to my network at home. Currently the router is attached to a pc running windows xp and a laptop running windows 7 32 bit is connecting wireless to the router. What i would like to do is to connect my new pc which is a windows 7 64 bit desktop machine to the network as well. The problem is that i am looking for the most cost effective and easiest way to do this. Basically i just want to plug it in and then im done
So what i tried so far is to connect wirelessly via a usb wireless adapter. This didnt go so well since it used realtek drivers 8187b and while i can connect to the network i can't do anything such as view the other pc's or connect to the internet. I couldnt find anything that solves this problem, so i am thinking that realtek drivers are useless (plug, configure, configure, throw away as opposed to plug and play). If anybody does know how to make this work then please tell me.
So my next obvious choice is to just run a long lan cable through the house to the pc. But i checked my lan driver and this is also a realtek driver unfortunately. Did anybody also experience problems with realtek drivers on a network card as well?
