Windows 7 64bit Local Connection problem

I have windows 7 64 bit, my local connection appears and enabling then says identifying network the dissapears for few seconds and repeats this process.
I know the lan cable works, because I have tried an xp pc on it and it works just fine.

Possibly faulty LAN connection. Is the LAN card on-board or a plug-in PCI card ?
If on-board I suggest testing with a LAN card connected via PCI slot.
I've had similar issues and replacing the LAN card solved the issue for me.

Have you tried disabling the adaptor and then re-enabling again? I've had this problem on a few windows 7 machines connecting to a domain controller.

you will probably have too install your RealTek motherboard onboard Ethernet cable driver probably will help
