Most of my software is not opening. I took my HDD to a mates place and it tried to boot my HHD on his PC, never went through but now my stuff is all screwed(well most is). Everytime i try to open, i get a hour glass for a second, then nothing happens. If i re-install the software it goes in once only, then when i exit and try again same issue.

I tried system restore, but i only have 2 in there and is after the daye i took it out.

Anyway i can fix this?

it works after i re-install the application only once then it stops again, i also cant uninstall.

So it has to be working, just something in windows is playing up

Reload windows then if it is still not working you know the drive is stuffed.

When windows breaks, well if it has broken you will spend more time trying to fix it than reloading would take.

In future though try not taking your main windows drive out to friends, buy a spare drive for that.

ya, i had stuff on there aswell so i took it with, all my drives are full. I will try reloading over windows without formating and see if it works

Dude reload windows and that should fix it and in future your windows drive should be for programs, games and windows.

Store stuff on other drives.

heh, sounds like a lovely trojan...

best bet is to scan it in a known clean PC

or boot from a live linux cd and scan with an antivirus scanner

I had a very similar problem when I first installed Windows 7.
Remove all your hard drives except the one you gonna put Win7 on.
Reformat from scratch and re-install, you cannot fool Win7.
Once everything is up and running and working great etc, make an Image for backup.
Now you can start adding your other hard drives back.
For some reason some of us have this problem and others don't, I reckon its possible a hardware problem that causes it.

Ok hang on here. I just uninstalled an application from its directory wich when i tried through uninstall programs it did'nt work. I re-installed and it seems like its working everytime i try, (tried about 5 times). Now some programs do not have an uninstall icon, like utorrent, i tried this and my profile is still there after i re-install that. so i have no idea how to remove it all completly so i can re-install
