Got a Windows 7 install running, and it has a file association issue. I have read several forums and tried different solutions however nothing works.
Does anyone out there have any odd solutions to this problem?

Thanks

What application do you need as the default application for whatever file that you are using?

Thanks for the quick reply, I appreciate it.

All my audio and video files start up with Winamp. Winamp is the app I use as my default audio player.
VLC is the app I would like to use as my default video player. However every video type file opens in Winamp.
I have tried the standard solution in manually changing the file associations in the control panel section but after every restart it's back to the same. I am googling the problem but nothing concrete comes through...

Right click on a video file and choose open with...
Then select "Choose default program"
Choose VLC and check the box at the bottom that says "Always open this file type with VLC"

Um, can you give us some more info?

Windows 7 Professional, 32 bit
Default video app - VLC
Default audio app - Winamp
Everything opens in WInamp, can change the fle assoc but after a restart everyting reverts back to Winamp

Thanks for the suggestion, this only works while the computer runs, after a shutdown & strat up or a restart, everything reverts back to Winamp.

Right click -> properties.
