I am running Windows 7, I have a Windows 2008 File server where I share files and do backups on.
I use Cobain 10 to back my Outlook files from my PC to the server. Cobain log says it backups up, if I check the share from the Windows 7 PC it shows the folder as empty. If I access the folder from the 2008 server the files are there?

Show hidden files and folders are ticked on Win7 ... Is this got to do with attributes of the files that they get changed somehow? Windows or Cobain at fault?

Thanks

the files are prob marked as system. did you untick hide system files as well on the PC?

Probably something on the server-side, I would imagine that it's hiding hidden files in it's shared folders as a security measure.

I had an issue similar to this with a NAS device.

Yip this was it. After I replaced the child objects permissions I could see it from my Windows 7 PC.

Why does it hide it? I thought it would show it but give you acess denied when you try and acess it.

I used Trinity Recue disk to enable the “full” administrator account on my windows 7 PC, I can see all the folders on the network that my other user account does not have access to if I am logged on with the full admin account. If I switch back to my normal account (which got admin rights) they are hidden again. How can I see all the folders from my regular account or do I have to use the “full” admin account for that?
