Windows 7 home basic printer subsytem repair

Is there a way to repair the printer subsystem in win 7 home basic, i cant load any usb printers TIA.

Sorry, I load the software, then plug in a printer, it goes throught the motions then says all is good, but the printer has a exclamation, then i right click it start the trouble shooter and it says there is no driver loaded, printer is a canon mp280, I have also tried a hp 3390, but the same problem, have tested both printers on other machines and they work, I have also removed everything(printers) restarted(3 times ) and tried again. nada

Have you tried disabling user account control before going through the motions?

Start> in search programs and files type user account control, click on it and take the bar all the way to the bottom.
Uninstall all the canon/hp stuff you have already installed.
restart, repeat the install and see if that fixes it.

UAC was diabled when i recieved it

no idea, you try universal hp drivers or restarting the spooler service?

yes did try that seems it just dosnt wanna load the actual driver.
