Windows 7 install trouble

hi guys.

I want to install windows 7 but I'm having some trouble. For some reason my mobo picks up ide devices as usb devices and windows 7 wont allow me to install to it. Does any one know how to get it installed? the motherboard is a msi Q965MDO. The reason i want to install it to a ide drives is that i have a spare 40gb and i only want to test it out for a day or 2. Want to wait for the final release before i install it for long term use.

Installing windows 7 on an ide hdd

Is your motherboard set to sata or ide in the bios?

Well i have Windows 7 rtm installed on a sata hdd but i have a ide hdd and dvd rw. So windows 7 support ide and cant see any reason why it wont. I think you must maybe look for a bios update or something for your motherboard. Sometimes that will fix some issues
