Hi There,

I have this terrible lag that occurs every time that some kind of media is running on my pc, like those flash adverts on websites,
game intro videos and so.I have tried everything I can and I am starting to think that this might be a hardware problem :(

I've updated the drivers, ive installed older versions of flash player, ive formatted and re-installed windows and alles! I really just don't know what the flip to do anymore.

My cpu runs very high when this happens. Can someone PLEASE halp me :( ?

Pc Specs :

Intel Core2 Duo CPU 2.80GHz
3.5GB Memory
64-Bit Windows 7
Nvidia GFORCE 8800 GT

Your machine is more than adequately specked for running flash content and video. What processes are using your CPU when this happens? How warm is the CPU running?

Try both the 32bit and 64bit versions of Internet Explorer, I've had websites that haven't worked at all in the 64bit browser.

This is exatcly what my pc does, when I open a website and there is some flash going and im doing something else my cpu shoots upto 100%

It also happens in games, its like a GFX lag when there is a lot to draw in the game.

There's definitely a few things you could shut down and then see if your graphics improves: Kill Power ISO and your Skype apps, Steam and google talk - and see if it still does that... Also, check if there are any IRQ conflicts!

Well, when did the problem appear, once you loaded Win 7?

How is you in-game performance in games?

I've had windows 7 for more than about 2 months now. It never gave problems, one day I was listening music with winamp and all of a sudden the music just lagged bad.
There after I tried to play some CSS on steam and it was laggy aswel. I have all the latest drivers for all the stuff in my pc.

I would be able to listen to winamp but not with a web page open behind it, then it would lag.
I cannot play any game without it lagging. I know that there is no virus because I gave this pc a
format a week ago and I dont go on those dodgy sites. I havent bumped
it neither have I dropped it so I dont see why my hardware would be giving this problem.

Issnt there any program that could maybe help me narrow down to this problem?

Thanks for the replies !

Seems like a hardware issue then. I don't know of any software, unfortunately, maybe someone else could help you in that regard. I would just start with hardware tests: Swapping ram modules, checking PSU, swapping GFX card out, that sort of thing. If you don't really know how to do it I'd get a friend who does to come help rather than just poking around in there.

Before going through all that hassle run a linux livecd that has flash & codecs preinstalled to test if you get the same issues.
