Windows 7 laptop DisplaySwitch Not Working..Cannot connect projector

Hi there

When pressing the Windows Key + P - nothing happens,also if you select the "DisplaySwitch" application, nothing opens - the pc just does nothing. I have re-installed the drivers for the Vga Card (NAME- standard vga graphics adapter
Manufacturer- standard display types
MAIN DRIVER- vga
version 6.1.7600.16385)

I cannot connect the projector - projector- XD1150 DLP projector

any advise would be great - please

Thats highly unlikely to be the right display driver,what laptop model is it?

Thank you. Im trying to find out which samsung R580 it is.
Will updating the driver enable me to use the DisplaySwitch option and use a projector?

Probably, you may need to change some settings. check the back of the laptop for the model.

ok. looked, and cannot find more info on model, did the dxdiag thing, and it just says, Manufacturer: Samsung
Model: R580 / R590 ?

you can try one of the many free auditing programs out there.

http://www.google.co.za/search?hl=en&q=free+audit may give you the exact model.
