Hi Guys,

I installed Win7. Everything works 100%.

I also have a Media Player (Mediagate) connected on the network. On Vista it worked just fine. I did share my drive an gave Everyone full access, In the security Tab Everyone also has full access. I did disable my firewall . But my Media player doesn't connect to my PC.

Are there any other security settings that I can change? Or what can be the problem? I'm getting the same message when I'm trying to connect to a XP Laptop (but it has strict security coz it's the work's) but an other XP machine is just fine but I don't want to copy the stuff over every day

This is the advanced settings:

Network Discovery is on
File and print share is on
Media stream on
Turn off pass protect share
Allow windows to manage homegroup connections

Thanks guys/gals

How are you connecting to the device?
Do you get a reply when you ping the IP of the network storage?
I also Installed Win7 yesterday so Im a newbie too.
Im not sure if you and the network drive need to connect to a Homegroup.

Hi man,

Well it's on my network with 3 PC's and 1 laptop. It can connect to the 1 machine but not to my pc or the laptop???

Same workgroup and same IP Range (Router is DHCP anyway so..)

Media player is giving me an error that there's no shares on the PC (SO I can see my PC) but if I check from an other pc I can see the shares and I don't need a username or password????

im having the same issue cant connect to share on my windows 7 pc from my XP share with write access
