Anyone know where I can get Windows 7 Updates, but I want to download them so I can just install them everytime I need to update someones Pc/laptop.

If you know of a program that can do this automatically that would be a plus thanks.

Update: seems I jumped the gun on making this thread, I am going to give this program a try: http://download.wsusoffline.net/

I used this ... http://www.windowsupdatesdownloader.com/ ... then download all the updates, copy the wim archive from the Windows 7 DVD and integrate them with a batch file that recompiles the install.wim and THEN I replace this in the Win7 Iso image and burn / update the USB install.

Phew.

Your link above looks interesting and possibly a time saver.

Autopatcher... gosh, this still around ? My My My. i last used it with XP sp3, and then heard Microsoft squashed it... so thought it was an extinct relic !!

Yep, the way it is configured now... it downloads the necessary files straight from the MS servers so that it does not violate their distribution restrictions. And it still works great!

I'm still a bit confused on what I need to do to tell it to download all Windows 7 updates then put it on a flash drive and install to the target Pc with the flash drive.

Aaah. Is it still a post install update or can it be slipstreamed for during install ?

The method I am using is a bit of a ball-ache initially... it takes a bit of a while to do the wim decompressing and integration and recompressing thing with the batch file... but then all the updates occur during the install - which of course takes a little longer now - but it is all done.

You can then just keep adding the updates to the wim and then keep a spare flashdrive for the install in future. No DVDs thus harmed in the update process, and it is quicker too.

Wow, I also thought AutoPatcher was long gone ... also glad to see it is still alive.

OK, you go to their forums and download the APUP file and run that.

It will offer you several versions. Choose the version you want, like Windows 7 X64 and then let it go ahead and download.

When it is complete, you go and look in that folder that it downloaded to and find the AutoPatcher.exe file.

Run that, and then you will be installing.

To move it elsewhere, just copy the entire folder to your flashdrive.
