Truth be told my copies of XP are legal/genuine. I will probably revert back to a small XP partion on my desktop just to play CSS. Rest of the time it's linux.
 
Just a question. If you bought an "upgrade" would you everytime you format have to first install the old OS and then upgade from scratch...seems kark?!

Mac spec'ed memory from Non-Apple sources is as cheap as ordinary RAM.

I do not care what you use but claiming mac's are cheaper than pc's seems a bit silly considering a mac pro desktop quadcore and 3 gb memory sets you back about 25k-30k. Do you have any idea that kind of pc you can buy for that money and would include a 5k vga card?

Ok build a similar spec'ed MBP then. High Def 17 inch screen, 10 hour long battery life? Remember in SA Core overcharges for Apple Macs too but even with that. You have to compare a high end Vaio to a MBP. Sure you could buy a 17 inch HP laptop at R8K but the display is 1366by728, the build quality is bad and the battery life is under 2h.

Do you get better than gigabyte and ASUS for mobo's? Have you seen the hardware we get in this country it is as good as anywhere in the world.

YES you do. Different grade CPUs, HDDs, chipsets get sent to different vendors. Apple, Enterprise Dell, HP etc probably have first pick, OEM usually get the lowest batch, and when it comes to SA - we're probably the lowest tier.

I'm talking about desktops. HTF am I supposed to build a laptop? The only thing I can compare with are desktop machines.

Bollocks. A MB I buy in the UK is no different to one I buy in SA. Talking same model&revision# here. You make it seem as they have special production lines for different countries. Which company in their right mind would waste money to spite people in certain countries. Do you actually know anything about the production process? Do you know apple do not make their own hardware? Do you really believe every company that supplies the components for apple products have a special heigh end production line just for the apple stuff?

Yes they have gradings for different cpus from the same bacth but they then sort them into differetn GHz batches and label them accordingly.

You drank way to much of the Apple kool-aid and we can see it dribbling out of your ass right now :rolleyes:

Before you label me a windows fanboy keep in mind I use Win/OSX/Linux and actually believe OS X to be a nice OS (except for the fonts).

So your telling me asus p6t for an instance is lower quality than the ones on newegg? Peter sometimes your post make me laugh hard dude.

Asus make one motherboard, they do not lower quality versions of that motherboard.
 
Yea from now on i am going to tell my suppliers i want the high quality version, the ones they get overseas not this south african low quality rubbish :D

Then i will hear them laughing and rolling on the floor at me.

Any idea how we can pre-order? I just built a new PC and I'm using the RC its good, so I wouldn't mind getting a copy......"if you like it buy it" principal.
 
I'd imagine you could just put in a fake address in the Microsoft Store, and select the download option. Not 100% sure though.

It must be because of the current financial situation the world find themselves in. It is wrong/terrible to bring out more technology like new operating systems, motherboards, etc, at this stage. South Africa is part of "poor" Africa therefore it would be just common Japanese sense and logic to appreciate the fact that we will receice the lower grade/quality hardware components and Apple will receive the best. Off course the fact that Apple is exempt from this same treatment is not above all mental logic. lets not go into the fact that Microsoft is an comglomerate cow and Apple not as they produced the flailing OS OSX.

Umm sorry ..... I got carried away. Lib (new mod) can now remove this post as exercise to the newly found liberties. :D
