[SOLVED] Windows 7 Pro and Windows 2000 Server No access

I am having problems with a Windows 7 Pro laptop to access a Windows 2000 server machine.

All the other PC's on the network has XP installed and they access the server fine by using a username and password.
The Windows 7 machine can go into other pc's and their shares, it can see the server that's all no access further than that.
No matter what username and or passwords I use it will not work.

I also can't join the domain with the windows 7 pc. The xp machine also are not joined to a domain, they are just on a workgroup. I have made the same workgroup but still nothing.

Please help. I'm going mad with this

are you using the domain in the username when trying to login? (if you get that far)
Or try command line, and see what error message it gives you:
net use x: \\server\share /user:domain\username password

Yes I used the domain in the username as well still no joy.

Domain\username
password

will try the command you gave on monday. What I will also make sure of is that the Win2k Server also have the latest service packs install. I only thought of it after I gave up for today. But I'm busy downloading them now, it most likely don't have any service packs installed (Don't know if the lack of service packs could cause it.).

LOL it's not my server. xD It was just a server at a friend of mine's business. I have never seen their layout before last week.

Anyways this is typical Microsoft engineering to not have any valid information on their support websites. I also only thought of checking for service pack after I went home allready.

Just glad it's working and my friend can get off my case :D
