I've met very few competent admins in my life, although I work with some of the best in the business now which is quite nice...

Do you have admin rights on your own box out of interest?

Yeah I do... It's quite tiresome having to perpetually find fixes for their mistakes though

What you could possibly investigate doing is creating a GP that you can apply yourself to your machine and "correct" their fsckups...

Now I gotta fix the single-click/new window for each folder thing

Update:
After applying this fix, the single-click option became available. I selected and applied it, then went back and changed it to double-click. So that seems to be working now.

2 down... 1 to go... it's still opening each folder in a new window

I would but the company that own the building and outsources all the call center infrastructure won't allow us such priviledges... *sigh*

woot woot, all sorted now...
1.) Open Explorer and choose the Organize drop down menu.
2.) Choose Folder and Search Options from the menu.
3.) Change the radio button at the top to: Open each folder in the same window.

Gosh what a mission!
