Hey peeps.

need 2cents/help if possible.

I have a win7prosp1x64bit domain pc that i want to enable for concurrent external remote desktop.

we have syspro as ERP thus i can't do a 1:1 remote ...silly and expensive.

i've tried the termserv.dll patch? that "allows" for concurrent remote desktop .

the installation went ok , but now when i remote (mstsc) to the remote pc , directly after entering domain credentials , i get kicked out of the pc ....lan or dsl ; same diff..

so either the "patch" didn't work or it being part of the win2k8 domain picks it up?

any ideas?

it simply disconnects ANY account from admin to any user ...

want remote users via 3g/adsl to can connect to this pc and facilitate our ERP(syspro) system.

thanks!

Just out of curiosity, can you connect to that Win 7 machine with a different domain user, to test if the console user gets locked out?

I had a situation a few years ago, similar to yours (just for a different purpose), which I *think* I got around by logging in with a domain admin account, for example. Really could be wrong though, so don't be quoting me on this, you hear!

using ANY domain account this occurs...AD administrator or normal user i get cut off after entering credentials.

:(

i have no idea how to solve this....this is sp1 on win7pro 64bit...going to reinstall and try without sp1 ..

How many users should connect to the machine in total? I know it isn't in the same line as what you wanted, but is it not going to be much easier to have a Windows server running TS?

We use UltraVNC in a domain environment.
it works perfectly for training & any other multiple remote login scenario.
I actually gave up on remote desktop years ago & only use it when I have to.

To be honest I think a better + legal solution for this would be to have VMware ESX/VitrualBox or such as host with multipal Windows VM's running on top of it.
You can easily run 4 Windows 7 environments on 4 gig of ram on a PC using above withou anyone noticing the difference. You can add more but you might encounter a slowdown if you do not add more RAM.

If you need a lot more than what a PC can handle, then I would go the Terminal server or even Citrix route. Going tha patch route you are explaining above is not only illegal but also not supported.

Technically speaking you arent allowed to virtualize a desktop OS unless you have VDI licensing regardless of hypervisor

It still has a legal route, unlike the OP's solution that has none.
