Windows 7 - Should I bother..

Upgrading - pricing

Does anyone know if you have a valid XP license, if you can get an UPGRADE to Win7 and pay a lower price? I just bought WinXP about 8 months ago and to now have to buy the full license seems crazy. There is just no information on this that I can find!

You cant. Only from Vista to windows 7.

The question was not if you can upgrade, the question was can you upgrade from xp to windows at a cheaper price, the answer is still NO. You can if you bought vista with the upgrade option.

You could but it is called morals and being legal...

Well morals and microsoft do not go well together so what is the problem.

Stick it to the man i say :D.

There are already people who have loaded windows 7 on 5 different pc's just by phoning them :D.

So what is XP then? If it is not Windows? I don't no where you get your info but 2000, XP and Vista qualify for the upgrade option. Vista is just the only one you can do an in-place upgrade, the option that doesn't require a clean installation.

An eye for an eye and we all go blind... But anyway, you can do whatever you want even if it isn't legal.

Speeding is not legal yet most people have broken that law at one time or another, i wonder where you draw the line?

From my stand point is that speed limits are put in place for safety purposes at times but that's beside the point. And don't forget one is given the choice of DSP or Retail. To me it sounds like one is being too cheap to buy retail and thus buys DSP even when there are restrictions to its licensing terms.
