I need a link to a simple solution to get this modem working on a windows 7 64 bit os.(huawei e220)
Aswell as using on my laptop windows xp serv pack 3,which is working fine.

Now Im a simple as u come all round user,so ya Im basicly dof when u talk about dashboards and stuff.

This modem needs to work on both machines as stated above.
Pls help

mmm as u notice not all threads lead to an amicable solution,was basicly asking if u have personaly over come this problem and send it to me.

im not sure but most of the guys on OT use windows95, if anybody could help you its Mephisto Helix he's on ubuntu
 
I'd install only the Vista driver for the 3G modem and let Windows manage the connection. I don't have a Huawei so can't check, but I did set one up on Vista once, without using the Vodacom dashboard and apps. It worked flawlessly and in my view better than the dashboard app. Create a new broadband connection using userid and password, fill in your account details, select the Hawei modem as device, and clickety-click you're online. Windows manages the connection, dialling, etc. I'm sure it's pretty much the same on W7b.
