Yay or nay? Does the mortals of the MYBB forums vote in favor or in non? In my own experience I have some success. I lack technique to make it work well. Tips perhaps? I ask for your shared experiences. Opinions or suggestions. Anything worth adding or mention; be not afraid. Many thank of epic proportions in advance.

I experimented but found it to be fatally flawed - it kept inserting a word - if or something like that - despite my best efforts to fix it. However if it doesn't give you that problem, it seems otherwise to be a competent piece of software for non-commercial use.

Any Idea how it compares to Dragons Naturally Speaking?

It doesn't compare to Dragon, not even close. It's useful for controlling your PC or dictating the occasional e-mail, but not anything more serious than that. Dragon's speed of recognition blows it out of the water - I can speak in real-time and Dragon picks up 98% of what I say accurately.

That does sound cool. I shall try dragon. Any software with the name Dragon in it sure sounds impressive.

Dragon is quite expensive. Windows 7 VR is free. That's also a big consideration.

I am currently in the stage of my life where I am willing to spend as much money as I need to on my studies. If you say 98% then it makes perfect sense to purchase it. I'm currently studying 2 degrees B.A. Sexology and B.A.Gen: International Relations, Psychology, More Psychology, History and African history, Double Honoring in Psychology and International Law. The Sexology requires 9 article's. Put this all together, and I will be doing a great deal writing and research. Thank you Cerebus; your kindness and incite shall be remembered once I become king of Africa.

In that case yes, I would recommend Dragon very highly. Get a decent headset as well and spend a lot of time training it - schedule regular trainings on the app and learn the commands. And be vigilant because glaring mistakes can still slip through the cracks.

Thank you for your advice. I appoint you as minister of public affairs.

Dragon speaking was the best ive ever used, i took a week out of my life to train the win7 recognition software to work just a little bit, i disabled it and have never used again. Its really not voice friendly... dont know how anybody could actually get a use out of it, its easier to pick up your mouse to navigate than to speak, thats for sure.

I shall attempt myself at Dragon these coming holidays. Surv0 i appoint you as minister of world afairs.

lol!!! Also be careful if you have 64 bit windows - only the most up to date release is compatible. I struggled with it before they brought out the update.

Cerebus, because of your trusted loyalty, I now make you minister of International Porn Star Affairs.

+1 On Win7 VR... used it for about an hour.... SUX! That damn mouse kept nibbling at my fingers, so I could not resist stroking it!!!

Many appreciations. I shall be trying out the Dragon just as soon as my puny student assistant pay cheque comes about.
