Hi all, basically I have a problem, I own supreme commander forged alliances on steam and also have a *legit* lanning one, not all of my friends own it, the lan one runs fine on my w7 pc, but the same files wont run on my w8 laptop. I dont know what to do, triend running as admin, specifically tell it to run with the gfx card, nothing, doesn't even open a window. but my steam version runs fine...

Anyone have a idea of what I can do to fix it?

Nope, tried running in compatibility - all of them

Try changing your screen res to 1024x768.

I had an issue with an older game a while back on windows 8 and nothing fixed it except for this. Said game worked fine on windows 7 as well.

I know it sounds drastic but lets be honest W8 is kuk.

I got the laptop through student laptop initiative, if I'm not mistaken I lose the warranty if I change the OS, and then i lose my free office

The Waranty is provided by your manufacturer for Hardware. Its upto you which Operating System you prefer. It doesn't hamper your warranty.


And you could also DL the version of office you currently have.
