So I just got a new laptop with windows 8 pro installed, but now after doing the update 1st thing, it just feels so buggy, and I don't have an original windows 7 and am not really in the mood for that whole formatting installing everything again. My 1st problem is my icons are now rectangles, how do I fix this?

Also after instaling the graphics card update, amd catalyst kept on crashing. so had to uninstall that and rever back to old drivers.

Blocky icons? Sounds like a graphics driver problem, not Windows. After all, Win8 is working fine on 100 million computers.

Solution: Get rid of that turd that is AKA Windows 8 and install Windows 7 on your laptop.

Your schmarmy answer is indistinguishable from those who don't listen, don't answer the question, don't realise how arrogant, smug and self-righteous they are. The topic might be technology, but your prejudiced view is as bigoted as any religious fundemantalist's. You are religious about technology. Pity.

If I'm not mistaken, you can upgrade from Windows 8 to Windows 7.

Let me see if I can find the link.

Update : Found it. I hope you have a Dell notebook, but I'm sure all the major manufacturers will have a similar scheme going.

Good luck!

Take that piece of crud and chuck it in the trash.
Install a proper OS like Win 7 or Ubuntu.
Microsoft has basically admitted that they made a complete screw up with that steaming pile of buffalo pucky.
It's only a few brainless slavering MS drones who are still clinging onto the faint hope that Win8 will one day actually become usable for them. ;)

Also hating Windows 8 at the moment. Trying very hard to like it and forcing myself to use it but it isnt growing on me and also have a few issues with hardware.
