I am stumped! A combination of beng purely a "layman" where computers are concerned and not having used "windows 95" for so long.
My brother in law has only got windows 95 . Until today his Lexmark z32 printer was working fine, then this morning I loaded software and connected my cannon flatbed scanner to his computer so we could scan some family photos.
I connected the printer to the scanner and then connected the scanner to the printer port on the PC. (LPT 1)
Scanner works well, but suddenly, when I try to print I am getting a flashing alert that reads "printer offline" and then an irritating little voice that says "we are having problems communicating with the printer" ( I had forgotten about this phenomenon with windows 95).
So, after scanning the photos, I disconnected the scanner and reconnected the printer directly to the PC.
No luck!!! I am still getting the same error messages.
Now I seem to recall this happening periodically when I last used "Windows 95 " which was about 7/8 years ago.
At the back of my mind I keep thinking I am overlooking something and there is a simple / basic way to correct this problem, but for the life of me I cannot recall how!
Any advice from anyone?
