Windows 'Black Hole' baffles users

Guess I'll recommend

3. Hide the update. This is not recommended as it may do what it says it will do and prevent any future updates of your system

to some annoying $lusers   :D

They must have posted that KB article some time in the US today (even if it is dated yesterday), because it was not there earlier this morning.

Anyway, I'm gonna install it. Looks harmless.

I'm betting it's an anti-piracy thing as well as a prelude to SP1. Wish I had some loser's pirate 7 to test my theory on...

Simple solution : Disable live update ! Its the worst risk to your system

I assume you mean disable automatic update... and instead enable "Notify me of updates but don't download or install them"?

Please don't disable all updates... there is no worse headache than working on someone's PC who has never installed a Windows Update!

Installed it, and my pirated windows still works, I doubt it is a piracy update since there was one (anti piracy update) just yesterday.

I never turn on Windows updates and haven't had any problems so far....don't even use a virus scan.

all those things do is hassle you and slow down your system really. If you know PCs well enough you can manage without all that junk.

Wonder why in SA ..... they should try Somalia .. duh
