Hi, i deleted the partition which contained Vista using Xp Disk Management Utility .. But when i boot the system, is still gives me two options : Windows Vista OR Previous/Older Windows OS (XP in this case) ... When i view boot.ini, this is what shows

Code:
;
;Warning: Boot.ini is used on Windows XP and earlier operating systems.
;Warning: Use BCDEDIT.exe to modify Windows Vista boot options.
;
[boot loader]
timeout=30
default=multi(0)disk(0)rdisk(0)partition(1)\WINDOWS
[operating systems]
multi(0)disk(0)rdisk(0)partition(1)\WINDOWS="Microsoft Windows XP Professional" /FASTDETECT /NOEXECUTE=OPTIN

How do i remove this?

Right click on My Computer, click properties. Go to "advanced system settings" and click on the "advanced" tab. You can set the properties you want there.

...Shows only one windows OS there (please check the details of the boot.ini i provided) ... I think these multi-boot setting were on the deleted Vista boot.ini, am surprise is still showing cause i've formatted the drive ...

Found this but now my CD says NTLDR not found after inserting disc eish ... I know my CD can boot

You can use EasyBCD (Google it) to use the Vista bootloader to boot whatever operating system drive you may want to use. Otherwise use a Windows XP disk and repair your bootloader for XP by entering the recovery console and going to the command prompt, type in: "fixboot" and "fixmbr". If you still get the same problem, go back into the recovery console and into the command prompt and typing "copy d:\i386\ntldr c:\" and "copy d:\i386\ntdetect.com c:\" (This is assuming your drive is C:\ and your DVD/CD drive is D:\. Replace where applicable.

Try
FIXMBR
FIXBOOT
BOOTCFG /REBUILD

In that order

it worked for me
