I have installed AutoPatcher on a few PC's on my home LAN. I now seem to have an issue with file sharing. I first installed AutoPatcher on my PC some time last year and after that no other PC could access my shared files.

Last week I decided to Install/update the other PC's and now I'm having the same issue. I get this message when trying to access another PC on the Network \\computer is not accessible. You might not have permission to use this network.

All the PC's are part of the "Workgroup".

I tried disabling the firewall, but that doesn't seem to work. On my PC I have Eset Smart Security installed, on all the others I have AVG with windows firewall. The Internet connection is shared from my PC, I also have access to all the other PC's via UltraVNC.

How about uninstalling the autopatcher and check again? This way youl know ( 10-1 ) if its a patching issue or not.

The reason I suspect Autopater is because the File Sharing issuse only came about after I installed it on my pc, I could still access all the other pc's shared files,

Last week I installed it on the other pc's, now I can't access the shared files.

I didn't install it on my Notebook and I can access the shared docs there without a problem.

Well, i would suggest uninstalling it. When you get someone who knows their stuff, install it again while the person is there with you...Sometimes a couple of settings need to be changed ( all depends what autopatcher has done ).

Well I should know my stuff, as I did mcse, mcdst, a+ etc, and work with pc's all the time :o

Got it sorted out on all the PC's :D:D, it was a security tweak that was applied when installing AutoPatcher, I just disabled/removed it and everything is working.

Glad 2 hear it....btw, sorry for "underestimating" you :D
Matter of interest,,,What security setting caused this?..might just be helpfull 2 me in the future :)

Theres 3 Registry Tweaks that I disabled, In the AutoPatcher List of Items, Expand Registry Tweaks > Security: Then Remove the Following

1.Remove IPC$ Share Remote Netbios Attack Vulnerability
2.Disable Default Hidden Administrative Shares
2.Disable Shared Documents

I'm going to enable no.1 and see if there problem comes back or not.

Ah yes, I remember those. Some of the registry tweaks included in autopatcher is quite useful.
